Someone You Know Wants The Gift Of Peace And Quiet
ATLANTA - The season that should help people focus on the Christ Child often leaves them more stressed, depleted and unhappy. A gift that can really be a Godsend for someone special is a weekend of solitude and quiet.
Ignatius House Retreat Center, through weekend retreats at its secluded campus on the banks of the Chattahoochee River in north Atlanta, offers such a gift. Those seeking a closer relationship with God have an opportunity to reconnect with their spirituality through silent reflection and contemplation. Throughout Scripture the invitation is heard to "come rest awhile" with God in order to find the peacefulness difficult to discover in a challenging world. At Ignatius House, quiet surroundings create an environment conducive to that discovery.
Retreats are open to men and women of all faiths. There is no required fee, but a suggested donation of $150 partially covers the cost of the retreat. Gift certificates are available by calling the retreat center.
During the retreat a director presents a series of brief orientations which each individual then uses for his or her own private contemplation and prayer. The presentations draw from Scripture and the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola. Each is a chance to grow in faith and become more aware of the love and peace found in and through God.
"A weekend retreat is an ideal way to experience God's presence in our lives and become more connected to our faith," said Bob Fitzgerald, director of Ignatius House Retreat Center.
Ignatius House is located at 6700 Riverside Drive overlooking the Chattahoochee River with gardens, paths and secluded natural contemplative spaces. The retreat house provides private rooms and baths. For information or to arrange a gift certificate call the retreat house staff at (404) 255-0503.
