Theologian, Musician Priest To Lead Advent Mission

MARIETTA - Father Richard Fragomeni, Ph.D., will lead an Advent mission with the theme "Simplicities among Complexities" at Transfiguration Church on Dec. 2- 4.

He will concelebrate and preach at the 5 p.m. Mass on Nov. 30 and at the 7 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. Masses on Dec. 1 to introduce the mission. On Monday, Dec. 2 through Wednesday, Dec. 4 it will be held from 7:30-9 p.m. He will also celebrate the 9 a.m. Mass each weekday and lead an informal teaching session afterwards.

Father Fragomeni is a teacher, liturgist, musician and preacher who holds a bachelor of sacred theology degree and a master of arts in religious studies from the University of Louvaine, Belgium, and a master's in liturgical studies, a master of music in vocal performance, and a Ph.D. in sacramental studies from Catholic University of America. A priest from the Diocese of Albany, N.Y., he now serves as an adjunct assistant professor of preaching at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Central to his work is a fascination with the power of liturgy and preaching in the transformation of consciousness, and he has a warm and welcoming preaching style to prepare hearts for Advent. All are welcome.
