Msgr. Regan's Life Celebrated In Carrollton
CARROLLTON - Parishioners, family and friends gathered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church to mark the third anniversary of the death of their former pastor, Msgr. Michael J. Regan. The Philadelphia native served at OLPH from 1972 until he died Aug. 8, 1999. Father Timothy Gadziala (now at the Catholic Center at Emory University) welcomed fellow clergy to the memorial. Concelebrating the Mass with Father Gadziala were Msgr. R. Donald Kiernan, Father Terry Kane and Father Dan Rogaczewski. Deacon Ray Egan assisted at the Mass. Msgr. Kiernan, a friend of Msgr. Regan for 50 years, delivered the homily, recalling humorous incidents in Msgr. Regan's life both at OLPH and during his years as pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Atlanta. Several members of Msgr. Regan's family from Philadelphia attended the Mass and served supper afterwards.
