Print Issue: September 12, 2002

Sometimes Heroes Are In Your Own Home

Many of the heroes and heroines of the Sept. 11 attacks were public safety workers, specifically firefighters and police. Misty Littler, 15, left, and her sister Crystal, 17, stand with their father, Bob, a 22-year police veteran, 19 with the Cobb County Police Department. Although they have always realized the importance of their father's job, since Sept. 11, 2001, both girls have a greater respect for the risks and courage that he and others put on the line each and every day.
