St. Brigid's Future Soars To New Heights With Steeple-Raising

St. Brigid Church parishioners (l-r) Joey Baiocco, his dad Steve and his older brother Alex view the church steeple on its side the day before it was hoisted to the top of the new church under construction. The steeple was constructed and transported from Campellsville, Ky., by Tec-Fab, Inc.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. July 18, crane operator Randy Williams of Maxim Crane Works starts lifting the 6,200-pound steeple to the top of St. Brigid Church, Alpharetta.

The 60-foot steeple hangs high above the parking lot of St. Brigid Church, Alpharetta. The steeple exterior is made of copper and its interior is held together by an aluminum frame.

The steeple rests upon the bell tower of the new St. Brigid Church. At approximately 3:45 p.m. a copper Celtic cross was placed on top of the steeple. From the ground to the top of the steeple is 128 feet.
