Jasper Congregation Begins Plans To Expand Church
Break out the sweet tea and haul out the ceremonial shovels. Ground-breakings in the Archdiocese of Atlanta are becoming a fequent occurrence, thanks to the burgeoning growth of Catholics in Georgia. Recently, two North Georgia parishes, Our Lady of the Mountains Church, Jasper, and St. Mark's Church, Clarkesville, kicked off their plans for accommodating that growth.
Members of Our Lady of the Mountains Church, Jasper, gather on the grounds to the left of the existing church where construction will take place. The expansion project will include an enlarged fellowship hall, seven classrooms and office space on the lower level. Enhancements will be made to the interior of the church and seating capacity will be added to accommodate over 500 people. (Photos by Michael Alexander) |
