Sister Marie Sullivan, OP, Named Outstanding Citizen
On March 16, the more than 800 graduates of the Military Academy of West Point living in the Metro Atlanta area honored a woman whose life has been dedicated to serving those most in need. At the Founders Day Dinner, celebrating the Bicentennial of the Military Academy, Sister Marie Sullivan, OP, was named the West Point Society of Atlanta's Outstanding Georgia Citizen for 2002 for her selfless service which truly exemplifies the ideals of West Point. At left, Dan Baker, West Point Society of Atlanta president and member of St. Theresa's Church, Douglasville, presents Sister Sullivan with the Outstanding Georgia Citizen Award. She is the founder of The Sullivan Center serving homeless women and children.
