Mercy Celebrates Multicultural Mass, Lunch

FAIRBURN - In conjunction with Black History Month, the staff and students of Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fairburn, celebrated a multicultural Mass and luncheon on Feb. 27. Members of the school community dressed in garb associated with their original heritage. Many of the prayers during Mass were said in the languages represented in the student body, including French, German, Italian, Spanish, Vietnamese and different dialects of African languages in addition to English. After Mass a potluck lunch was served with foods from the many different countries represented. Our Lady of Mercy High School is in its second year and is located in Fairburn on the Fayette/Fulton County line.
