McDaniel Volleyball Coach Of Year

ROSWELL-Michele McDaniel, varsity volleyball coach at Blessed Trinity High School, has been named Area 5 AAAA's volleyball coach of the year. McDaniel, a chemistry and biology teacher at the 466-student school, was chosen coach of the year by the seven Area 5 volleyball coaches. This was BT's first year playing at the varsity level and the team ended the season with a record of 5-2 overall. The team placed third in the region during the regular season, behind Marist School and North Springs High School, both in Atlanta. According to McDaniel, the team showed steady progress since the beginning of the season. "Although we came out of the block slow, we ended the year strong," she said. "I am extremely confident that we will make it to state finals next year." McDaniel is not only confident about the team's chances next year, she is also sure that BT's volleyball teams will be a power to reckon with in the future. "We will continue to build our volleyball program at the high school level and at the elementary school level through our feeder programs," she said. "Our goal is to build Blessed Trinity into a volleyball powerhouse."
