MARIETTAAfter suffering a stroke on Oct. 22 that left him
partially paralyzed, Father Bob Susann, MS, pastor of the Church of St. Ann, is
recovering in an Orlando, Fla., hospital, said parochial vicar Father Ray
Cadran, MS.
He is recuperating and undergoing rehab in an Orlando
hospital, Father Cadran said. He is making progress daily.
Father Susann, 54, was attending a LaSalette provincial gathering
in Orlando when he suffered the stroke. Father Cadran said that members of the
order have been visiting him daily and that Father Susanns
spirits remain strong.
He is undergoing aggressive therapy and treatment and looks
forward to returning to ministry, Father Cadran said.
As of now, there is no confirmation of when Father Susann will
return to St. Anns. Father Cadran said that he and fellow parochial
vicar, Father Leo Cummings, MS, and Father Joe Nolan, MS, who is retired and in
residence at the parish, as well as the entire parish staff are just
doing what needs to be done.
Father (Susann) will be in therapy both in Orlando and in
the Atlanta area for the next several weeks, Father Cadran said, adding
that he expects him to return to Georgia within the next three weeks.
Father Cadran said that prayers are requested for the pastor.
Prayers are what are going to get him through this, he
said. Prayers and his own grit.
A priest for 28 years, Father Susann has been pastor of St.
Anns since 1991 and previously served as pastor of Our Lady of LaSalette
Church, Canton. Those who would like to send Father Susann get well wishes may
