Archbishop Quinn Leads Retreat For Archdiocesan Priests

LET US SERVE THE LORD -- Archbishop John R. Quinn, archbishop emeritus of San Francisco, serves as retreat-master for a four-day priest retreat held in Conyers. The archbishop offered spiritual and practical insights to priests of the archdiocese. His presentations were based on the Gospel of John. Archbishop Quinn leads about eight priest retreats a year around the country. In addition to serving as archbishop of San Francisco for 18 years, he also served as archbishop of Oklahoma City for four years. Archbishop Quinn is also noted for his research and writings concerning redefining the papacy.

Some 60 priests from around the Archdiocese of Atlanta attended this year’s retreat. Said retreat coordinator Father James Schillinger, “It was one of the best turnout of priests in years, and we received a gracious welcome from the monastic community in Conyers.”
