REMEMBRANCE -- Father Thomas O’Reilly, who served as pastor of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Atlanta, during the Civil War, is credited with arranging to save the downtown churches and Atlanta’s city hall from the torch of General William T. Sherman.
