Eagle Scout Project Helps Marietta Parish

DUNWOODY—Kevin Kane, 16, a junior at Marist School, Atlanta, received the Eagle Scout award, the top award for Boy Scouts, coordinating a project at Holy Family Church, Marietta, as his major effort.

Marshaling fellow Scouts and adult volunteers, Kane and the group raked tons of gravel and planted some 50 azaleas as part of the effort to improve the outdoor Stations of the Cross at the parish. Holy Family sponsors Kane’s troop.

Father Ed Thein, pastor, offered the invocation at the Eagle ceremony held at the parish center.

Kane is the son of Patricia and William Kane. He has been nominated for the Governor’s Honors Program and hopes to pursue his interest in computers.
