CSS Begins 'One Church One Inmate' Program

HEALING THE CONVICTED -- (L-r) Father George Clements, founder of “One Church One Inmate,” Phillip Thompson, an ex-offender, and Father Greg Kenny, CMF, pastor of Corpus Christi Church, Stone Mountain, stand outside St. Thomas More Church, Decatur, following a one-day training session Oct. 30 for the church-state program. Catholic Social Services organized the training for “One Church One Inmate,” a collaborative effort to assist inmates and their families from the last stages of incarceration through the post-release phase until they are able to return to society as spiritually healed and law-abiding citizens. Some 85 people attended from more than 30 churches and about 12 denominations.
