Priests Relax At Serra Day Of Recreation

JASPER-In spite of a two-hour rain delay, over 60 golfers participated in the annual Serra Club Day of Recreation honoring archdiocesan priests and Religious at the Bent Tree Country Club in early September.

A tennis tournament was also held during the day Sept. 9. Father Victor Galier, parochial vicar of Holy Spirit Church, Atlanta, won the tennis tournament for the second year in a row and Father Bill Hoffman, pastor of St. Joseph's Church in Dalton, was awarded a titanium tennis racquet for his many years of participation.

The first place team in the rain-shortened nine hole golf tournament included Father Terry Kane, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Hartwell; Don Sasso, principal of St. Pius X High School in Atlanta; Steve Siler, director of development at St. Pius, and Gary Furin.
