Newly Inducted Serrans Support Clergy, Religious

ATLANTA--The Serra Clubs of Atlanta welcomed nine new members with an induction Mass held at St. Jude the Apostle Church April 19.

The new members include Julie Noggle, Gloria Ludwig, Robert Parker, Hank Murphy and Mike Sullivan from the North Metro Club. New members from the Metro Atlanta Club include David Dorries, Robert Jones, Charles Matthews and William McKenzie.

During the induction Mass, celebrated by Father Larry Niese, parochial vicar at Holy Cross Church, Atlanta, the new Serrans committed themselves to be involved in the church’s work of calling forth church vocations. They also committed themselves to devote their efforts and prayers within Serra to the faithful encouragement and preservation of vocations to the ministerial priesthood, the permanent diaconate and the Religious life.

In addition, the new Serrans committed themselves to promote and deepen Christian justice and charity and to continually strive to fulfill Christian vocations to service. Lastly each new Serra Club member promised to be a catalyst in the efforts of the church, particularly in his or her own parish, and to encourage vocations to the service of the church.

The Serra Club currently has over 100 members throughout the archdiocese. For more information about Serra in Atlanta and their work for vocations, visit their website at www.serraatlanta.com.
