Billie Hillis Dies at 67

ATLANTA--Billie Hillis, who maintained the mailing list for The Georgia Bulletin for several decades, died May 16 at her residence in Girard, Ga. She was 67.

Mrs. Hillis, owner of Cherokee Communications, was also a minister and a district and region elder in the Georgia Christian Church and managing editor of The Christian Messenger. She was chairman of the board of the Burke County Department of Family and Children’s Services. She died of cancer.

Mrs. Hillis had maintained the mailing list of The Georgia Bulletin for several decades until November 1998 when publication of the newspaper was moved to Atlanta.

She is survived by her husband, Roy, of Girard; two sons, Stan, of Girard, and Mark, of Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Cindi, of Girard; and six grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2280 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta 30904.
