Birth Date: July 10, 1962.

Place of Birth: Atlanta.

Parents: John and Jolaine Kingery.

Siblings: Four sisters, two brothers, including Father Patrick Kingery, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Woodstock.

Education: Earned bachelor’s degree in philosophy, 1986, St. John Vianney College Seminary, Miami; teaching certification for middle grades, 1989, Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw; completes master of divinity degree in May from Notre Dame Seminary, New Orleans.

Work Experience: Worked in sales for travel agency for a year and a half; taught 6th grade and religion for five years at Christ the King School, Atlanta; volunteered as leader of Boy Scouts for 15 years.

Primary Hobbies and Interests: Camping, watching movies and reading popular fiction.

Pastoral Internships: Served June to November 1998 at St. Joseph’s Church, Marietta; participated in chaplain training program with Emory University System of Health Care, summer 1997; served at St. Augustine Church, Covington, summer 1996.

Additional Languages: Spanish.

Particular Ministries of Interest: Youth and other parish ministries, working with Boy Scouts and teaching religion in a Catholic high school.

First Mass: June 13 at 5 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Atlanta, and June 20, 10:45 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Marietta.

First Assignment: Parochial vicar at the Church of St. Benedict, Duluth, a parish of over 4,000 families.
