Well-Spoken Students Advance To State
ROUND I WINNERS -- Winners of the
county/district level civic oration contest are, left to right, Joanna Steege
from the Cathedral of Christ the King School, Atlanta, third place, Jeffery
Self from St. Marys School, Rome, third place, Jason Long from St.
Josephs School, Marietta, first place, and Trey Nunnery from the
Cathedral of Christ the King School, second place. The competition was held
April 20 at the Cathedral of Christ the King School. This years topic is
An American Place Worth A Visit. First place winner Jason
Longs speech was on the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, Fla.

ROUND II WINNERS -- County/district
level civic oration contest winners are, left to right, Ann Dunn from Our Lady
of the Assumption School, Atlanta, Catlin Dobson from St. Thomas More School,
Decatur, and Jessica Ratliff from Immaculate Heart of Mary School, Atlanta In
the competitive round held at St. Thomas More April 22, Dunn came in third,
Ratliff came in second and Dobson came in first. The three finalists in each
round will go on to compete at the state/regional level. The first place
winners in each round also won a $50 cash prize courtesy of Modern Woodmen of
America, this years contest sponsor.
