OPENING PRAYER -- Maisha House guests participate in the “Four Directional Prayer,” a prayer form often used in the Native American culture. Participants start the prayer facing the north, praying in each direction. Praying are Rita Engelhardt, left, and Mary Mize, parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Atlanta.

PRAYER WARRIORS -- Sister Loretta McCarthy, SBS, left, and Sister Nancy Auster, SBS, right, welcome Carmen Neal and her 10-month-old son Louis following the prayer service. Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, who opened the Maisha House of Prayer in 1990, lead a prayer service at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday. All are welcome.
