Age: 40

Birth Date: June 26, 1958

Place of Birth: British Guyana, now Republic of Guyana; raised in London.

Parents: Carmen and the late Fredrick Juan.

Siblings: Two brothers, two sisters.

Education: Earned licentiate in philosophy and theology, 1997, from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá, Colombia; completed program in bookkeeping through Persaud College, London.

Work Experience: Managed bookstore and book warehouse for Society of St. Paul religious order while seminary student in Bogotá where he also trained aspirants to the order to work in the print shop and apostolate; worked for two years as Morse Code operator for British government. Volunteered for three years at a parish in British Guyana, supervising altar servers, working on the parish council and in a soup kitchen.

Primary Hobbies and Interests: Reading psychology and religious books, swimming and bike riding.

Pastoral Internships: Has served from August 1997-December 1998 at Christ Our King and Savior Church in Greensboro, where he developed Hispanic ministry by leading RENACER 2000, teaching English classes and forming a Hispanic committee; is holding weekly prayer group prior to Our Lady of Guadalupe feast and will lead nine-day posada before Christmas culminating with a Hispanic children’s Nativity play; assisted with the youth program, gave spiritual counseling and translated for patients at Good Samaritan Clinic and at Minnie Boswell Hospital in Greensboro.

Additional Languages: Spanish.

Particular Ministries of Interest: Any Hispanic and English ministries where needed.

Ordination to Priesthood: Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Church, Dunwoody.

First Mass: Mass in Spanish for the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. and in English on Dec. 13 at 8:30 a.m., both at Christ Our King and Savior Church, Greensboro.
