IHM Thanks Parish Leaders

Parish

ATLANTA--The staff of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church paid tribute to parish leaders Father Richard Kieran, Sister Louise Sommer, CSJ, and Marge Kelso as they began new ministerial journeys.

Father Kieran served as pastor of the parish for the past seven years before being named pastor of St. Anna's Church, Monroe. In addition to his new pastoral responsibilities he is the coordinator of Renew 2000 in the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

Sister Sommer worked at the parish for seven years as the director of religious education and the OCIA program. In her new ministry she is a chaplain of the Mercy Mobile Care Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Kelso served at the parish since 1991 as the music teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary School and pianist for the 8:30 a.m. Sunday liturgies. Currently Kelso is working at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Cumming, as pianist for their liturgies.

During the summer celebration the three parish leaders were recognized for the many gifts which they shared with parishioners and staff alike. The dinner was orchestrated by Patrick Fitzsimons, director of children's ministries.
