Mary Our Queen Breaks Ground

Parish

PEACHTREE CORNERS--Members of Mary Our Queen Mission gathered Sunday, Sept. 14 for the groundbreaking for their new building. On a hot afternoon, they stood under trees shading the site for a prayer service presided over by Msgr. Donald Kiernan, Father David Day and Deacon Jim Stone.

The site in Peachtree Corners will be home to a 16,000-square-foot multipurpose structure, the first phase in a long-range building project. The building will provide a worship site for 550 people, offices, a parish hall, classrooms and a nursery. An existing building on the site will be renovated to provide additional classrooms. A plaque was also presented to Msgr. Kiernan, pastor of All Saints Church, Dunwoody, for the support of the parish to the mission. Father Dye is priest-in-charge of Mary Our Queen, which was established in 1994. Members currently gather at Nortech Business Park in Norcross.
