Saint Joseph's Ball Benefits Mobile Mercy

ATLANTA--More than $225,000 raised at the eighth annual ball for St. Joseph's Hospital will benefit community outreach efforts through Mercy Care.

Receiving the WINGS of Mercy Award were Dr. L. David Stacy and his wife Beverly. The award honors individual contributions to the mission of the Sisters of Mercy and the hospital.

Dr. Stacy, a pathologist, has been on the hospital staff since 1978 and has served on the St. Joseph's Mercy Foundation board since 1981. Mrs. Stacy has been active in the volunteer group WINGS, as co-chairman of the annual hospital ball and with several other fund-raisers for Mercy Care, which provides health care outreach to the community through Mercy Mobile Health Care.

"Their generous gifts of time, labor, talent and funds extend the mission of mercy far beyond the hospital walls," said Sister Jane Gerety, senior vice president of sponsorship for St. Joseph's Health System.

Former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young was honorary chairman of the ball held at the Ritz Carlton, Buckhead, on April 26. Co-chairwomen were Leanne Shaw and Linda Williams.
