Aquinas Center Publishes Ellis Study

ATLANTA--The Aquinas Center at Emory University has published a paper by Benedict Viviano, OP, entitled, "American Catholics and the Intellectual Life: Looking back on John Tracey Ellis's Paper after Forty Years."

This is the first in a planned series of occasional papers on Catholic intellectual life. Also available is "A Question of Sovereignty: The Politics of Manning's Conversion," by Peter C. Erb, the text of the Thomas Aquinas Lecture presented by Professor Erb at Emory in 1995.

Benedict Viviano, now professor of New Testament at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, was visiting Dominican professor at the Aquinas Center in 1994. The paper is an engaging and lively plea on behalf of the traditions of inquiry and scholarship within Catholicism.

Single copies are available at no charge from the Aquinas Center of Theology, 1703 Clifton Road, Suite 5, Atlanta 30329. Please provide your mailing address on a label or form that can easily be cut and pasted.
