ATLANTA--Archbishop John F. Donoghue has announced the following provision for the observance of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception for 1996.

December 8 falls on a Sunday in 1996 so the celebration of the feast is transferred to Monday, Dec. 9. While the liturgical celebration is transferred to Monday, the Mass obligation is not transferred. Therefore the feast will not be a holyday of obligation in 1996 in the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
