SVDP Director Recognized

ATLANTA--Sheila Bissonnette, executive director of the Particular Council of St. Vincent de Paul, received the 1995-96 Alan R. Johnson Leadership Award May 31 at the annual meeting of the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE).

Bissonnette has been a member of the GSAE since 1989 and served for 18 months as chair of the GSAE Foundation, which promotes professional development of GSAE members and creates opportunities for educational and leadership training for young people.

The leadership award was established in 1993 in honor of Alan R. Johnson, chair of the foundation at that time who died suddenly at the age of 43. The award bears the inscription: "Leaders are the ones who keep faith with the past, keep step with the present and keep the promise of posterity."
