Catholic School Principals Honored

ATLANTA--Principals throughout the archdiocese were honored by the faculty, parents and staff of their schools Nov. 16, the National Day of Appreciation for Catholic School Principals.

This celebration, instituted by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) five years ago, calls upon the local school community to express its gratitude to its principal for the direction, dedication and drive that they bring to the education of young people.

Each principal was presented with gifts from the school community to commemorate the occasion.

Dr. Robert Kealey, executive director of the NCEA Department of Elementary Schools, praised the efforts of Catholic school principals.

"Everyone recognizes that Catholic schools are schools you can believe in," he said. "Much of this trust is due to the unsung heroes of these schools who are their principals. These women and men, because of their total commitment to provide quality education infused with values, have earned the support of parents, the respect of their staff and the admiration of the students. Catholic school principals are principals you can believe in."
