Marist Honors Top Grads

ATLANTA--Brian Ducote received the Sedes Sapientiae Award at commencement exercises held for the 190 members of Marist School’s class of 1995 on Saturday, May 27. The ceremony was held in Symphony Hall, Woodruff Arts Center.

Brian, son of Richard and Teresa Ducote and a member of All Saints Parish, Dunwoody, was chosen by the faculty for loyalty, scholarship and service. He served as president of the student council in his senior year and was captain of the cross country, track and wrestling teams. He was a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society and served as a retreat leader.

He and Clair Folga, daughter of Dick and Celeste Folga, Dunwoody, each received the W. Dean Hargis Award in recognition of their contributions in leadership, dedication and tenacity for more than one season in a varsity athletic program.

Claire played volleyball during her senior year and was named most valuable player and scholar athlete. She will attend the University of Virginia; Brian Ducote will attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.

Kevin McGill and Ann Selzer received the Archbishop’s Award given for achieving excellence in the study of the Catholic faith and for service to their school, parish or community. Kevin, son of John and Jackie McGill is a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Atlanta. Ann, daughter of Jim and Mary Louise Selzer, is a member of All Saints Parish, Dunwoody.

Megan Citarella, daughter of Richard and Ann Citarella of Norcross, and a member of All Saints Parish, Dunwoody, received the Atlanta Journal Cup at graduation for excellence in service, friendliness and participation in school activities. As valedictorian she received the Harley R. Kimmel Memorial Award presented to the valedictorian each year by the Marist Parent’s Club. She was voted most likely to succeed by her classmates and served as president of the senior class.

Salutatorian Nick Rodolakis, son of Anthony and Rosemary Rodolakis, and member of All Saints Church, Dunwoody, also received the Kimmel Memorial Award. As a senior, he served as president of the Debate Team and was an editor on the student newspaper.

Both Megan and Nick were named to the dean’s list from ninth through 12th grade.
