Esther Warren Dies

Esther Warren, adult education coordinator at Holy Spirit Church, Atlanta, and a member of the parish since 1965, died Nov. 21 at the age of 55 at the parish.

Mrs. Warren was in her fifth year in her catechetical role, said Ruth Maguire, her friend and the director of religious education. She was also a past president of the Women’s Guild, a leader in many parish efforts over 29 years, and “a wonderful, one-of-a-kind person.” She had led Bible study, RENEW and a follow-up program called “Seasons.” “But her gift was her wonderful sense of humor and seeing everything from both sides,” Mrs. Maguire said. “I never heard her say anything bad about a single, solitary person.”

She is survived by her husband, John, her daughters, Catherine Warren, Merrell Pair and Montie Stone, her son, John, and three grandchildren. Her funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Spirit Church Nov. 23 by Msgr. Edward Dillon, pastor. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church Building Fund.
