MARIETTA – Father Robert Baker, SM, parochial vicar and former pastor of St. Joseph’s Church in Marietta, died All Saints Day, Nov. 1, after years of prayer-filled struggle with throat cancer.

Father Baker, who this year celebrated his silver jubilee as a priest, was 53.

A wake service was scheduled for Wednesday evening, Nov. 2, at St. Joseph’s Church. It was to be followed by a Thursday afternoon, Nov. 3, viewing at the church. The funeral Mass was to be held that evening at 7:30 at the church. Friday, Nov. 4, a prayer service was scheduled for 10 a.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Burial is to follow in the Marist section of Westview Cemetery, Atlanta.
