Father Louth Dies

Father Warren Louth, OFM, pastor of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception from 1984 to 1987 died July 11 at St. Petersburg, Florida.

Father Louth died in the hospital after undergoing surgery for lung cancer. He was 72.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson, New Jersey, July 15.

Father Louth was the last Franciscan priests to serve as pastor at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception before it was returned to the archdiocese June 7, 1987.

He is survived by his brother, John Louth and his nephews George Louth of Warner Robins and John W. Louth of Hapeville.
