Archbishop Released From Saint Joseph's

Released from the hospital May 7, Archbishop John F. Donoghue said he is working with a reduced schedule this week and following his doctor’s orders, including one to quit smoking.

The archbishop was hospitalized for four days at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta with acute bronchitis and dehydration. He spent part of the day May 9 at his office, but continued to delegate some parish confirmation celebrations to his pastors. His recent heavy schedule and possible allergies may have contributed to his illness, the archbishop said.

He expressed gratitude for the continued prayers, cards and messages of concern that have come from the people and clergy and Religious of the archdiocese.
