Dennis Webb To Head APDC

Dennis Webb has accepted the chairmanship of the Archdiocesan Planning and Development Council (APDC), Monsignor Edward Dillon recently announced.

Webb, a member of Christ the King Cathedral, served as vice-chairman during the first two years of the advisory council’s formation. Ed de St. Aubin of All Saints parish was chairman for two one-year terms, allowing stable leadership during the council’s formation.

“It’s not necessarily automatic (for the vice-chair to assume the role of chairman) but it’s a logical move,” commented the administrator of the archdiocese. “He brings two years’ experience to the role.” Monsignor Dillon has worked with Webb recasting the charter for the council and feels this experience will serve him well as chairman.

The APDC was formed in early 1991 to advise and assist the archbishop. Its 14 members include lay, clergy and Religious representatives. It coordinates the work of the Development and Finance Committees established as part of the council’s overall structure.

“We will act as a sounding board for Monsignor Dillon during this transition period, allowing him to bounce ideas and problems off the council,” Webb said, in outlining the group’s role in the months ahead. “We’ll have an organization principally made up of lay people in place to be available for the new archbishop when he is appointed.”

Webb is a trial lawyer with Webb, Carlock, Copeland, Semier and Stair. He is a member of the Serra Club and has been active in fundraising activities for St. Pius X High School.
