Father Ken Bayer Treated For Leukemia

Father Ken Bayer, MSFS, pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Norcross, has been diagnosed as suffering from chronic myelocytic leukemia and is undergoing outpatient chemotherapy through Snellville Humana Hospital.

The 43-year-old priest said the initial therapeutic efforts are aimed at gaining remission before the disease reaches an acute stage. Then, with his doctor, he will consider strategies for a cure.

Father Bayer expressed his appreciation for the prayers and concern of the many who have called and visited. However, his doctor has advised him strictly to limit visitors. Father Bayer asks instead that well-wishers continue their prayers for his recovery. While undergoing chemotherapy at home he is able to continue his pastoral duties.
