Village Gets New Director

Steve Brazen, executive director of Catholic Social Services, recently announced the appointment of Charles Bright as the new director of the Village of St. Joseph, and the hiring of Joyce Jordan, to direct Catholic Personal Care homes.

Assistant director for almost two years, Bright succeeded Sister Mary Frances Brun, CSJ, July 1. Ms. Jordan will assume her responsibilities Aug. 1, succeeding Mrs. Carolynn Pierce.

Bright, a native of North Carolina, has a master's degree in counseling. He worked as a therapist at the Village before becoming assistant director. He also does private therapy with Catholic Social Services.

"We're very pleased to have Charlie take up that position," Brazen said. "We'll be moving into an intermediate care level at the Village, which involves a higher form of licensing. He will help make it a smooth transition. Charlie's having a sense of the Village's mission, where it needs to go, is real helpful."

Ms. Jordan has been resident services coordinator and assessment manager for Wesley Homes, Inc. in Atlanta for the past 12 years. In this position she managed care delivery for clients in a 90-bed unit of the 240-bed Wesley Homes facility.

"I'm very impressed with her management style and administrative skills which are important for the stability and development of the personal care homes," Brazen commented. "She will be able to enhance and develop what has been established and provide leadership for the homes."
