| Joseph J. Estafen, director of finance for the archdiocese, has been
named to succeed the last John E. Aisthorpe as director of planning and
development.
Mr. Estafen will retain the position of finance director though much of the
day to day activity of this office will be given over to Michael J. McNamara, a
certified public accountant and member of Saint Andrews parish, Roswell,
who has been named assistant director of finance. The new assignments take
effect Feb. 1.
Mr. Estafen, a member of Saint John Neumann parish, Lilburn, brings to the
Development Office a longstanding interest and involvement in development
efforts in the archdiocese. He had a leading role in the 1983 $7.2 million
Capital Funds Campaign which addressed high school, campus ministry,
intermediate personal care and educational scholarship needs. He also worked
closely with the Catholic Schools Management, Inc. program of development for
the diocesan schools.
Patricia R. Johnston, who was assistant to the late Mr. Aisthorpe, will
continue in that position with Mr. Estafen. Mrs. Johnston is a member of Our
Lady of the Assumption parish, Atlanta.
