Brother Leo Kapitza Dies At Conyers

By Father Paul Bourne, OCSO

Our brother Leo Kapitza died unexpectedly on Easter Monday, April 23. He entered Holy Spirit Monastery in 1945 after having served several years with the Society of the Divine Word. He made his solemn profession with us on June 6, 1952.

Brother Leo will be remembered among his brethren and friends outside the monastery for his ready smile and prompt willingness to put his not inconsiderable manual and mechanical talents at the service of those who needed them. He was ever faithful as well in his attendance to household chores, the share of every good monk.

Leo Kapitza was born in German Poland 68 years ago, 37 of which were shared with us here in Conyers. Though we can be confident that he is now with God we shall miss him greatly nonetheless.
