Archbishop Donnellan Is University Trustee

Atlanta Archbishop Thomas A. Donnellan has been elected to the board of trustees of the Catholic University of America, located in Washington, D.C. The archbishop was elected by the executive committee to a four-year term.

Archbishop Donnellan, who came to Atlanta in 1968, is already a member of Vatican Congregation for Religious and Secular Institutes, the American Bishops’ Committee for Liaison with Major Superiors of Religious Men and the Atlanta Community Relations Commission. Last year he was elected to a three-year term as treasure of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Archbishop Donnellan will now assume the post of chairman of the development committee of the Catholic University board of trustees.

Other archbishops joining the board of trustees at this time are Archbishop Joseph Bernardin of Cincinnati and Archbishop John Quinn of Oklahoma City.
