Kineposium Draws Crowd

By Marie Mulvenna

Members of the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission presented a “kineposium” on March 6 with over 80 representatives of parish liturgy committees attending. The special program, held at Sacred Heart, covered six major areas of liturgy with 15-minute sessions held on each topic.

Fr. Henry Gracz, priest-secretary of the Commission, said the response was extremely encouraging and the people attending were very receptive to the programs planned by the Commission. Among future projects will be workshops for musicians, lectors and parish worship committees and a regular newsletter on liturgy which will be sent to all local committees. Teams of Commission members will also be available to assist parishes in organizing or reactivating their committees.

As a result of the March 6 program, Fr. Gracz announced that the Commission has been requested to present a similar kineposium on April 9 for the adult education group of Sacred Heart Parish. The session will focus on specific topics and will include: baptism, goal setting, the new marriage rite, communion under both species, lay ministers and the preparation of liturgies. Commission members will present the topics in small group gatherings which move from one subject to another, concluding with a general wrap-up session.
