State Knights Pick Mulherin

Bernard J. Mulherin, an Augusta attorney, was re-elected state deputy of the Georgia State Council Knights of Columbus at their 69th annual convention held on Jekyll Island, May 28th, 29th and 30th.

Other officers elected are Ken Dugan, Atlanta, state secretary; John J. Stafford, Savannah, State Treasurer; Frank Maness, Marietta, state advocate; and William Baker, Augusta, state warden.

Msgr. Daniel J. Bourke, state chaplain was the principal celebrant to the convention Mass and delivered the homily. Other concelebrants of the Mass were Father Thomas Gilroy of Atlanta, Father Walter diFrancesco of Warner Robins, Father Michael O'Keefe of Valdosta, and Father Francis Keany of Atlanta

The highlight of the convention proceedings came when the Knights voted a donation of some $5,200 to Our Lady of Perpetual Care Cancer Home located in Atlanta.

Charles C. Chesser of Augusta was honored by being named Knight of the year, and received a handsome bust of Christopher Columbus.
