Three Ordained To Order Of Deacon

Three young men stepped forward last Saturday for the service of the Church in North Georgia and were ordained by Archbishop Donnellan to the Order of Deacon. Paul Berny, Peter Dora and Terry Young, all in their third year of post-graduate theological studies received the Order entering them into the ranks of the ministry.

All of these young men have worked in the archdiocese over the past several years, Berny and Dora at the Cathedral of Christ the King with folk liturgy and also at last year's Southeastern Congress on Worship. Young has spent two summers at Immaculate Heart of Mary and another as director of the family camping site near Atlanta.

None of the three are native of the area. Berny is originally from Buffalo and came to the archdiocese only two years ago. Dora is originally from Tennessee, having moved here to Holy Spirit Parish when his family was transferred several years ago. Young is a native of Maryland.

The ceremony held at the Cathedral was attended by approximately 300 people, including twenty classmates of the three new deacons.

Each man will be assigned to a parish in the metro area following the close of the school year.
