Catholic Daughters To Start Court Here

The Catholic Daughters Of America, a national organization of some 200,000 members, will institute one of its courts in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, says Judge Mary C. Kanane, Union, N.J., national regent of the organization.

The announcement of the coming court, the first in Georgia, was made at the close of the semi-annual meeting of the national CDA board held in Atlanta at the Riviera Hyatt House March 21-23.

Mrs. Joseph Meyer, president of the Atlanta Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (AACCW), has offered to assist the National CDA court in establishing this new court.

While in session in Atlanta, the national board received the invitation from Archbishop Thomas A. Donnellan to organize a court of the CDA in Atlanta, and the AACCW offered its help.

Ms. Meyer, and the national regent will work out details for the new court and the date of institution.

The national regent, who is judge of the Surrogate Court of Union County, New Jersey, presided at the board meeting, which was attended by the five national officers, nine directors and the national public relations chairman. Bishop Bernard J. Flanagan, Worcester, Mass., national clergy consultant, attended.

Also in attendance at the board meeting was the Rev. Leonard Bachmann, S.T., Stirling, N.J., consultant to the national regent.

While in Atlanta, the national board hosted a dinner at the Chateau Fleur de Lis for Archbishop Donnellan.
