'Day Before' Masses Permitted For Seven

Six parishes and one Newman Club have received permission to have Masses before Sundays or Holy Days to fulfill obligations, according to the Chancery.

Archbishop Thomas A. Donnellan has notified pastors they will be given such permission upon request.

The Cathedral of Christ the King has received permission to have Mass both on Saturdays and on the day before Holy Days. The Saturday Mass will be at 7 p.m.

St. Philip Benizi in Jonesboro has received permission for Saturday.

St. Jude’s in Sandy Springs, for Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Our Lady of the Assumption, for Saturday at 7 p.m.

St. Mary’s in Rome, for Saturday.

Sacred Heart, for Saturday at 5:30 p.m. beginning July 18.

The Agnes Scott College Club, for days before Holy Days.

The archbishop said that Masses in the home will not satisfy the obligation.
