Leaders Named In Fund Drive

Ernest F. Boyce and J. Wallace Winborne will be co-chairman of the $250,000 Annual Charities Drive which will be held March 1, Archbishop Thomas A. Donnellan said this week.

The drive, upon which the archdiocesan budget is based, went over the $225,000 goal last year. All Archdiocesan programs and projects benefit from the drive.

Boyce one of the co-chairmen named by the archbishop, is a member of Holy Spirit Parish, serves on the Archdiocesan Finance Council and is president of Colonial Stores.

Winborne, the other co-chairman, is a member of the Cathedral parish, serves on the Finance Council and is second vice president of the Trust Company of Georgia.

Assisting the co-chairmen will be a committee composed of Msgr. John Stapleton, Cathedral rector; Father Noel Burtenshaw, archdiocesan chancellor, and Father Jerry Hardy, assistant chancellor.

The co-chairmen and the committee have already met with the pastors and said they feel this year’s drive will be successful with the cooperation of the pastors and their committees.

A meeting with all priests and parish chairmen is planned for this month.
