Inner-City Post Goes To Dillman

Father Alan Dillman, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, has been appointed administrator pro-tem of the archdiocese’s Office of Urban Affairs.

Acting after consulting with the personnel board of the Priests Senate, Archbishop Thomas A. Donnellan named the 36-year-old pastor to the spot made vacant by the departure of Father Al Clarke from the Archdiocese.

This important office plays a vital role in the archdiocese’s commitment to the solving of inner city problems. The appointment of Father Dillman as administrator pro-tem is the first step in a general reorganization of the office.

The staff has already been enlarged by the arrival of Sister Marie Bodell, S.S.N.D. She will work with Father Dillman in administering the office’s existing programs as well as setting up new ones.

Father Dillman’s appointment becomes effective immediately. It does not alter his status of pastor at Our Lady of Lourdes.

The Office of Urban Affairs is housed in the newly opened Catholic Center at 756 West Peachtree St. NW.
