Rome, Ga. Native Honored

Sister Peter Claver, a member of the Missionary Servants of the Blessed Trinity and a native of Rome, Ga., is now at St. Theresa Missionary Cenacle (convent) in Brooklyn, N.Y. developing community projects.

She recently moved form Gadsden, Ala., where she was head of the medial library at Holy Name of Jesus Hospital. Upon leaving the city, she was presented a certificate of appreciation from the Etowah County Council of Community Services for her work as council president.

Sister Claver is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fahy of Rome. She holds a master’s degree in education from Catholic University and a master’s degree in library science from Spaulding College, La.

The Gadsden Times editorialized upon Sister Claver’s departure: “An inspiring mind, a lively concern for her fellow man and complete dedication to her calling makes Sister Peter Claver first of all a mighty power on the side of the angels and second a fascinating woman with whom one can discuss with great profit any subject under heaven.”
