What I Have Seen and Heard - Archbishop Gregory's Weekly Column

Print Issue: March 13, 1969

Initial Reports Point Toward Drive Success

Initial reports indicate that the 1969 Archdiocesan Charities and Development Fund Drive has exceeded the goal of $225,000.

Final reports have not reached the Chancery, but first reports indicate that the first annual drive has an excess of more than $10,000.

Archbishop Donnellan commenting on first reports expressed his deep personal gratitude to the people of North Georgia for their outstanding generosity.

The archbishop also conveyed a special word of thanks to those who worked so hard to make this one day cash drive a success, especially Rawson Haverty, archdiocesan chairman, and the individual parish chairmen.

Within ten day final reports are expected from each parish and at that time the archbishop will express his thanks to each individual who so generously contributed to this drive for archdiocesan charities and future development.

Future editions of The Georgia Bulletin will contain final details of this campaign, which will be an annual event in all our parishes. The success of this one day drive for funds is a milestone in the short history of the Atlanta archdiocese.
