St. Anthony's Now Has Three Parish Boards

Robert Todd, president of Saint Anthony’s Executive Council, announced that seven people have been elected to the Parish Pastoral Board. The parish now has three boards called for in the decrees of the 1966 Lay Congress and the statutes of the 1966 Archdiocesan Synod.

The Executive Council is the overall governing lay body of St. Anthony’s Church and its members are the committee chairmen and presidents of the various parish organizations.

Edgar Schukraft is the chairman of the parish finance board and Henry D. Hancock is the vice chairman. Capt. E.O. Mullen is chairman of the parish school board, and Mrs. William Rose is vice chairman.

Last Sunday’s elections, at Mass, for the pastoral board resulted in the naming of Paul Zwicknagle, Mrs. Roy A. Free, Charles H. Gardner, Jack Gray, Capt. Jack McEntire, Henry Richardi and Mrs. James Rosentahal. The first meeting of the pastoral board will be held on Monday, July 24.

In commenting on this election, Todd said, “I believe that St. Anthony’s has accomplished another first. To my knowledge we are the first parish in the archdiocese to organize all three boards called for in the Lay Congress and the Archdiocesan Synod.”

Last year St. Anthony’s Parish held a parish congress. This too was the first to be held on the parish level in the archdiocese.
