Manning Will Be Invested

Msgr. Michael Manning is to be invested as a domestic prelate by Archbishop Paul J. Hallinan Monday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m., at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. The investiture will be followed by a concelebrated mass.

The principal concelebrant will be Archbishop Hallinan, assisted by Bishop Joseph L. Bernardin, Msgr. Joseph Cassidy, Father John O’Shea, Father Michael McKeever, Father John McDonough, Father John Stapleton and Msgr. Manning. Father McDonough will preach the homily.

After Mass a reception will be held in the cafetorium for parishioners and friends of the monsignor.

Msgr. Manning, who was president of the Synod, was born in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland, in 1912. He attended the St. Brendan Minor Seminary in Kilarny, went to All Hallows College where he was ordained in June, 1936. He came to Georgia in September, 1936, and was assigned to the Diocese of Savannah.
